Astro, my very special and most wonderful dog: You crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Even though you were blind and deaf, you never failed to greet me at the door when I came back from work. I am sorry for ignoring you sometimes when you only wanted just a small caress.

I miss your bark, your wagging small tail, your nagging and mostly your presence next to me.

Thank you for being in my life and a member of my family for 17 years and 6 months. Thank you for all the unforgettable memories that I will cherish forever. Thank you for all the slobbery kisses you printed on my face and for all the stuck brown fur on my clothes.

Astro, I love you so much and miss you more that you could ever know.

I lost a treasured friend today
The little dog who used to lay
His gentle head upon my knee
And share his silent thoughts with me.

He’ll come no longer to my call
Retrieve no more his favorite ball
A voice far greater than my own
Has called him to His golden throne.

Although my eyes are filled with tears
I thank Him for the happy years
He let him spend down here with me
And for his love and loyalty.
