Le Jabron est une petite rivière qui coule à Montélimar et au bord de laquelle se trouvait récemment encore un chemin de terre long d’environ cinq kilomètres, menant à une petite commune voisine, Montboucher-sur-Jabron, située à l’est de Montélimar. Cette bande de terre inaccessible aux bagnoles et aux motos – mais avec accès secours – était parcourue par les promeneurs, coureurs à pied et vélos, par des solitaires et des familles tranquilles, qui allaient et venaient en pleine ville dans un espace vert à peu près naturel, sans que l’œil ne se heurte à un élément de pollution visuelle trop gênant. N’était les inévitables sachets de chips ou canettes alu abandonnés à terre par les habituels suidés à deux pattes, l’endroit permettait de retirer une sensation de nature non négligeable dans cet univers de goudron et de béton qu’est une ville, même moyenne.
Mais voilà, « soyez absolument modernes – comme Rimbaud -, soyez nomades et fluides ou crevez comme des ringards visqueux ! » observait Gilles Châtelet dans Vivre et penser comme des porcs, en 1998, résumant un des mots d’ordre ambiants. Las, et en dépit de pétitions de riverains atterrés, il ne fallait qu’aucune parcelle de terre n’échappe à la règle. Car il convient que chacun puisse circuler, ne rencontre nulle entrave, soit fluide. Il fallait ainsi dégazer sur ce qu’il restait de nature dans la cité, et on dégazai. Ainsi a-t-on ici en lieu et place d’un chemin qui convenait à quiconque souhaiter y passer, une bande de goudron de cinq kilomètres de long. Énorme coup de feutre noir ineffaçable, défigurant cet espace, évoquant désormais n’importe quelle aire de repos d’autoroute. On s’est pris alors à songer, en rentrant, à ces graffs importuns que par ailleurs, les édiles ne manquent jamais de fustiger et d’effacer, au nom de la propreté bien sûr…

Petit-déjeuner chez Francis, débordé par manque d’employés (malades). Le patron est obligé d’aller au charbon, de tirer les cafés, de les servir aux clients impatients. Cafés au lait, sans lait, servis dans des tasses-baignoire qu’il renverse en les servant. Nous le lui faisons savoir au moment de régler la note et il rétorque : Il me manque du personnel et voilà que c’est AU PATRON de faire le service. Mais est-ce que ça empêche de le faire bien – me murmure-je. Ah voilà, nous comprenons ! répliquons-nous. Vous savez, balance Sophie, le café c’est pas votre fort, il était pas terrible. Moment d’hésitation, de trouble, il suspend sa désordonnée agitation, comme figé par la remarque et se tourne vers la machine à café et bougonne : Allez, deux cafés ? Nous en dépose un sur le comptoir et conclut avec gros soupir : Tout ça c’est de la faute à Macron… Sophie : Qu’est-ce qu’il a à voir le café, Macron ?
Nous voilà sur le parvis de la librairie de l’abbatiale. Embrayons une conversation avec la responsable qui arrose ses fleurs. Et dans le fil de small-talks, je lui fais savoir que nous venons de Genève, la Rome protestante. Je vois une nuée de points d’interrogations s’échapper de sa bouche. Rome ? dit-elle. Oui il n’y pas qu’une Rome, il y a en a deux. Du moins c’est ce qu’on dit. Genève est un des berceaux du protestantisme, etc…
Puis débarque le chanoine, discutons du pape, je le complimente pour son discours devant le tympan de l’abbatiale d’hier soir et lui propose de le photographier : Je veux poser avec Madame ! insiste le chanoine Jean-Daniel. Oui volontiers, mais seul d’abord devant votre somptueuse abbatiale et après avec qui vous voudrez.

Très flemmard, je me contente de reprendre le titre de l’article béchetien : La vision complexe. L’idée de la fiche 10, p.34 du Monde de la photo (hors série 36) ? « (…) jouer avec le réel pour proposer une vision énigmatique et interrogative d’une situation qui n’est pas forcément, à l’origine, confuse ou mystérieuse. (…) le cadrage va complexifier une scène apparemment banale. »
C’était ce matin à Bastille. Illustration partielle de la fiche en question, il aurait mieux valu tenter de placer un maximum de monde dans le cadre, mais voilà : c’est une par jour, indulgence! Au registre des scènes dites complexes en photo de rue, Béchet cite un ancien, Lee Friedlander. Il aurait été possible d’évoquer Alex Webb, Maciej Dakowicz, Tavepong Pratoomwong, j’en oublie… Autant de prodigieux magiciens, dans leur aptitude hors norme à saisir des scènes dites complexes, à partir du banal, du quotidien. Mais justement, rares sont ceux qui savent faire cela, je ne m’y risque pas trop tant les photos surchargées d’éléments peuvent être vite pesantes à l’œil. Et elles sont parmi les plus difficiles à réussir…
N° 9, le foisonnement. Nous sommes le 1er août, les vacances démarrent, il n’y aurait eu aucun moyen de me faire prendre un bain de foule aujourd’hui, même pour une fiche. Tant pis pour la photo dans la foule ! Voilà un foisonnement de fenêtres : c’est toujours ça de pris.
On voit que beaucoup de sociétés ont occupé ce bâtiment à une époque, cité de la Jarry, à Vincennes. L’endroit va être rasé, un lycée doit le remplacer, si j’ai bien compris.
